Who We Are
Church on the Rock is a multi-ethnic, multi-generational, family-centered church that loves our Lord and His people. The best way to find out who we are is to experience our community in person on Sunday mornings at 10:30am. In the meantime, please read our purpose, values, and summary of beliefs. We look forward to worshipping with you!
Our Mission:
Our purpose is to be a body of believers that pursues authentic Christian life and endeavors to develop mature, reproducible, Spirit-filled Christian disciples.
Our Values:
Building strong bonds of Christian friendship and caring relationships.
Being Christ–centered- accepting, encouraging and valuing every person.
Being open to the presence of God in our lives and worship and being open to the movement of the Holy Spirit.
Creating environments that will draw people to an encounter with God; intentionally sharing Jesus with others.
Seeing people exercise their spiritual gifts to meet the needs within our community and Whidbey Island Naval Air Station.
Changing lives, where people are built up and encouraged in excellence and growth in every ministry of our church.
Our Beliefs:
We at Church On The Rock firmly believe the doctrines of historic Christianity as they are revealed in the Bible. Our statement of faith is summarized briefly for you here.
We believe the entire Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is the inspired Word of God. It is the final and sole authority for all Christian life and practice.
We believe in Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son. We believe further in His preexistence, His incarnation, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His substitutionary sacrifice for sinners, His bodily resurrection from the grave, and His personal return from heaven.
We believe that humanity was created in the image of God, sinned in Adam, and are now sinners by nature and by choice.
We believe in salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, apart from human merit, works, or ceremonies.
We believe that the church is a spiritual body with Christ at the Head, both eternally and functionally.
We believe in the resurrection of the human body, the eternal existence of all humanity either in heaven or hell, and in divine judgments and rewards.
